Saturday 25 August: Lincoln’s Fete on the Strait: During this outdoor event, books were sold by the author from his Tibetan Tent, each purchaser being presented with a free cup of Tibetan tea. Inside the tent Rowena Field and Dee Boyle from the Tibet Support Group York sold various items that have been sent from the Tibetan refugees living in India. Also available were sessions of Tibetan Head Massage. The Lincoln-based Lama Lhakpa Yeshe blessed the Tibetan Tent, a ‘gur’ decorated with auspicious signs.

From 19th-21st September, there was a successful ‘book tour’ of the West Country with events in Bristol, Torrington and Crediton, Devon.

The evening at the Crediton Arts Centre, Devon included moving songs sung by Shelok Tsering (centre). Also shown are the author (2nd L) and members of a (full) house for the event.

FEBRUARY: SUNDAY: 24th: CAMDEN TOWN, LONDON:

The TIBET SOCIETY organised a screening of ESCAPE FROM TIBET at the Forge, Camden Town, which attracted a large audience. Pictured in the subsequent Question-and-Answer session are the film’s Director Nick Gray, the ‘Escaper’ Tenzin, and Philippa Carrick, the CEO of the Tibet Society.

The Bath District Tibet Support Group advertised a screening of Escape from Tibet at beautiful Hartham Park with this customized bicycle. Nick Gray and Tenzin introduced the film and signed books for members of a large audience. Among them was the composer of the film’s music Richard G. Mitchell.
APRIL: THURSDAY 11TH: LEEDS:
A special screening of ESCAPE FROM TIBET will be introduced by the film’s Director Nick Gray, with Tenzin, on Thursday 11th April 7-9pm at THE ARENA, LEEDS CITY MUSEUM, MILLENNIUM SQUARE, LEEDS LS2 8BH.
For this unique event, the film will be dramatically projected onto five screens simultaneously.
Fabian Hamilton, M.P. for Leeds North-East and Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group for Tibet, will speak on the present human rights crisis in Tibet.

As part of the BRIGHTON FRINGE FESTIVAL, the Free Tibet Sussex Society presents Tibet in Brighton: “A creative investigation of the contemporary situation inside/outside of occupied Tibet: art, music, films, talks, and poetry by Tibetans in exile. ”
6.00-8.30: At the Brighton Media Centre, Friese-Greene House, 15-17 Middle Street, BN1 1AL, Brighton, there will be a screening of ESCAPE FROM TIBET introduced by Nick Gray, with (it is hoped) both Pasang and Tenzin. The date of the event is auspicious as it is the 60th Anniversary of the First Ascent of Mount Everest – Chomolongma to Tibetans by Sir Edmund Hillary - and Tenzin Norgay.
The Brighton Media Centre is a friendly venue in the heart of Brighton’s creative hub, only 1 minute from the seafront and a 10 minute walk from the train station.
